I had an upper blepharoplasty with Dr Samuel George and I’m so happy with my results!! He did an amazing job and both the consultation and aftercare were excellent. He explained everything clearly and made me feel really comfortable throughout. Georgia, the clinic assistant, was so lovely, funny and really helped put me at ease. I’m so pleased with my results and how little downtime I’ve had. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
I have had my eyelid surgery in December and I’m very happy with the results of my eyelid surgery. The whole experience was professional and reassuring from the first consultation to the follow-up appointments. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. The procedure went smoothly, and the recovery was exactly as explained. The results look natural and have really boosted my confidence. I would fully recommend this place to anyone considering eyelid surgery.
After looking around for a surgeon local to me, I came across Precision Surgery. There were several other clinics locally, but I had read awful things about them. I was nervous initially, as the surgeon, Dr Samuel George, wasn't an Oculoplastic Surgeon which I was advised would give me the best results. However, after reading up about him and his work as a Tissue and Nerve Lead specialist at Birmingham QE, I felt reassured that he was more than capable. Upon meeting him, he talked me through everything and discussed potential issues. I knew after this meeting I had made the right choice. The surgery was quick and painless. I was chatting away to both Dr George and his Clinical Assistant Georgia throughout the surgery. (Thanks for the TV recommendations Georgia!) I have had my stitches removed today and in just over a week, I've healed exceptionally well. Which is further testament, to the care and Precision of Dr Samuel George and Georgia. My whole experience has been fantastic throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone considering a Blepharoplasty or any of the other procedures on offer. Thanks again. I love my new eyes!! Have a lovely holiday Dr Sam.

Blepharoplasty is a procedure designed to remove:
This can involve:
The goal is always natural, subtle rejuvenation — helping you look more rested rather than “operated on”.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the upper eyelids to restore a fresher, more open appearance.
The scar is typically very well hidden within the natural eyelid crease.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty improves under-eye bags and puffiness, helping you look less tired. This is a bit more extensive than an upper blepharoplasty as we lift the entire orbicularis muscle in the upper cheek under the eye and anchor it to the orbital rim, essentially performing a mid-face lift.
Lower eyelid surgery may involve:
This is tailored to each individual to achieve natural, subtle results.
Just incredible from start to finish - I did my research and Mr George is in the top 2/3 surgeons so I booked consultations with all , Mr George being my first , but after visiting Mr George he was so good and so through I just knew he was the right surgeon, he gave me his background and explained the procedure , checked that I was a suitable candidate for the surgery and got me booked in within a couple of weeks! The day of surgery Mr George and his assistant nurse were both lovely and very welcoming! I felt super relaxed , and comfortable to ask any questions or let them know if I was uncomfortable at any point but Mr George ensured I was comfortable and pain free throughout the whole procedure, he was extremely thorough and explained every step along the way so I knew what was happening, after the surgery he gave me a lovely little care package with medical aids in and also a very delicious iced tea for the hot whether! He is second to none on communication you don’t get a secretary or admin team you get Mr George , so you can relax in the knowledge that you have him at the end of the phone should you need anything! I would not hesitate to recommend Mr George, if you are thinking of having any of the surgeries Mr George offers , he is the very best you won’t get better in terms of the whole package at a very competitive price for what you get! I also wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again if I need anything he offers and I will recommend to others! Thank you so much Mr George and team!! I am very happy! 🙂

Yes. At Precision Surgery Clinic in Edgbaston, Birmingham, we provide both upper and eyelid blepharoplasties under local anaesthetic as a day case procedure.
Yes. Blepharoplasty in our clinic is performed under local anaesthesia.
Most patients report only minimal discomfort. The local anaesthetic injections sting for a few seconds then it all goes numb and you can only feel touch, pressure and pulling, but nothing sharp or painful.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic in many places, at our clinic, blepharoplasty is usually performed under local anaesthetic. This keeps the cost down and allows you to return home the same day.
Surgery typically takes between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the procedure required. Usually 30 minutes per side for an upper bleph and 45 minutes per side for a lower bleph procedure. There will be time allocated for marking, local anaesthetic and paperwork so your appointment is likely to last 2-2.5 hours.
Incisions are placed in the natural crease of the upper eyelid or just below the lower eyelash line where they are usually well concealed. Scars mature gradually over several months.
You will have steri-strips over the wound and your stitch will be a running stitch in a loop. Your upper eyelid will be swollen and bruised for the first few days, but you should be able to carry out most daily activities, although strenuous activities should be avoided. Keep the wound and dressing dry for 48 hours. Within a week, most of the bruising is resolved and a significant amount of the swelling, and there will be residual swelling to go down over the subsequent weeks after we remove the stitch after 1 week. The skin is essentially healed in 2 weeks and you can go back to all activities and sports in 3 weeks.
It is very hard to tell if someone has had blepharoplasty surgery. The scars are very well hidden and the effect is not one of someone obviously having had surgery, but a brighter, more youthful appearance where people can’t really figure out what you have had done.
There are many potential complications as with any surgery which the surgeon will go through with you during your consultation. The most serious one is bleeding at the back of the eye causing blindness which is extremely rare nowadays as most places do not excise an excess amount of fat. Taking too much skin can also result in you not being able to close your eyes in an upper bleph resulting in dry eyes or having the eye pulled down (Ectropion) in a lower blepharoplasty. These are very difficult complications to manage, which is why we spend considerable time measuring and marking, and why we take a deliberately conservative approach to removing fat and skin. Serious complications of this kind are very rare, and your surgeon will discuss all risks fully with you before you decide to proceed.
The cost of a blepharoplasty depends on the complexity of the procedure. A personalised quote is provided following consultation. Typically the standard price of an upper blepharoplasty is £2495 and a lower blepharoplasty is £3195.
